Benjamin Salgado, MD earned his medical degree from the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile. He completed his internal medicine residency at the University of Texas at Austin Dell Medical School, where he was also chosen to serve as Chief Internal Medicine Resident for an additional year. He completed his cardiology fellowship at the University of Louisville and an additional advanced heart failure fellowship at the Houston Methodist DeBakey Heart and Vascular Center.

Dr. Salgado is board certified in cardiovascular diseases, echocardiography and nuclear cardiology, is board eligible for advanced heart failure certification, and is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology. He specializes in evaluation and management of heart failure and also has experience in cardio-oncology.

Dr. Salgado is a caring and compassionate physician who enjoys teaching and communicating with his patients with the goal of improving their overall health and quality of life. When not working, he enjoys spending time with his family. He is an avid runner and an outdoor enthusiast. He is fluent in Spanish.
