Dr. Miruais Sekander Hamed was born in St. Gallen, Switzerland. He received his medical degree at the University of Bern, in Switzerland`s capital. He began his internal medicine residency in Switzerland including nephrology and cardiology training at the Inselspital in Bern.

He served two years in the Swiss Armed Forces, promoted to first Lieutenant and retired from active duty when moving to the USA.

After moving to Baltimore, MD, he completed an additional internal medicine internship and residency at the Johns Hopkins University/Sinai Hospital Program, where he was chosen to serve as Chief resident for another year. He then finished his cardiology training at Oregon Health and Science University (OHSU) in Portland, OR.

Dr. Hamed  specializes in general and invasive cardiology. He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiology and Echocardiography.

He loves hiking, gardening, cooking and travelling. His native language is Swiss German but he also speaks French, Latin, English and some Dari.
