    Oscar Maitas, MD, MS\u00a0 is an interventional and structural cardiologist, board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular medicine, interventional cardiology, and nuclear cardiology. He specializes in advanced catheter-based therapies, including transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR), MitraClip and transcatheter mitral valve replacement (TMVR).<\/h3>\n

    Originally from Venezuela, Dr. Maitas earned his medical degree from the Universidad de Oriente before completing his internal medicine residency at John H. Stroger Hospital of Cook County in Chicago. He then pursued cardiology and interventional cardiology fellowships at Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans, followed by a structural heart disease fellowship at the University of Washington in Seattle. Prior to his subspecialty training, he worked as a hospitalist at Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center, an experience that gave him a unique perspective on patient care across the continuum.<\/h3>\n

    Dr. Maitas\u2019 research spans transcatheter valve therapies, atrial fibrillation detection technologies, and coronary revascularization. He has published widely and presented at leading scientific meetings, including the American College of Cardiology and the American Heart Association. During his training, he was honored with the Herman L. Price Award for Clinical Excellence in Heart Failure and was named both Chief Fellow and \u201cCardiology Rookie of the Year.\u201d<\/h3>\n

    Dedicated to patient-centered medicine, Dr. Maitas believes that the most effective physicians combine technical expertise with compassion and approachability. He is deeply committed to reducing disparities in cardiovascular care, particularly among underserved populations. Fully bilingual in English and Spanish, he works to make care accessible for diverse communities.<\/h3>\n

    Outside of medicine, Dr. Maitas enjoys music, outdoor activities, and spending meaningful time with his family.<\/h3>\n<\/div>
